Editorial Submission Standards

Frontiers of BioScience is committed to publishing scientifically robust, original, and relevant content that contributes meaningfully to the advancement of the life sciences and health innovation. In order to ensure editorial consistency, technical excellence, and ethical integrity, all authors must comply with the journal’s submission requirements.

Submissions may be written in British or American English, provided linguistic consistency is maintained throughout the manuscript.

All files must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, using the .docx extension. Full scientific papers, including original research articles, review papers, and technical essays, should generally range from 15,000 to 30,000 characters with spaces. Shorter contributions, such as editorials, expert perspectives, institutional communications, or technical outreach pieces, may range from 3,000 to 6,000 characters with spaces.

All manuscripts must be formatted in Calibri, size 11, with 1.15 line spacing and justified alignment. Paragraphs should not include first line indentation. Headings and subheadings must be presented in bold and spaced appropriately to preserve readability and editorial uniformity.

References should follow an abbreviated Vancouver style, prioritizing objectivity, clarity, and traceability. Authors are strongly encouraged to include figures, tables, and graphs whenever these resources strengthen the technical presentation of the work. All such materials must contain a clear title, an explanatory caption, the original source when applicable, and image resolution of at least 300 dpi.

The journal accepts only original and unpublished material. Manuscripts under simultaneous review by another journal, conference, repository, or institutional publication venue will not be considered. For studies involving human participants, authors must provide evidence of ethical approval by a recognized Research Ethics Committee, including the relevant protocol or registration number. Animal studies must likewise indicate approval by the corresponding ethics body and must comply with applicable animal welfare standards.

Any conflict of interest, institutional linkage, or funding relationship that may influence the interpretation of the work must be transparently declared at the time of submission.
